Both RESCU Academy teams qualified for the National Science Decathlon Tournament by finishing in the top 3 at the recent regional tournament. The middle school team qualified with a third place overall finish and the high school team placed second overall. Highlights for the middle school team included a first place finish by Johnathon and Alex in GeoTrekker and a third place finish in Bridge Breaking by Joey and Toby. Mike, Grayson, and Mark all did a great job in the events they competed in as well. On the high school team, Abbi and Clayton finished first in Marine Biology, Will and Daniel finished first in Chemical Observation, and both Johns scored a first place finish in GeoTrekker. Second place finishes went to the Harrison and Clayton's team in Airplanes, John H. and Harrison in Water Rockets, Abbi and Clayton in Reptiles, John P. in Mousetrap Cars, Miri and Abbi in Four’N’Six, and Miri and Will in Scientific Method and Bridge Breaking. All of the parents joined the RESCU staff at the event and had a great time. Thanks to all who have supported and continue to support the team and good luck to everyone at Nationals on May 30th!
