RESCU Academy offers students access to an individualized curriculum that is aligned with state standards. We distinguish "individualized" from independent study curriculum because of the unique instructional methodologies and academic opportunities that we make available to our students. As part of our individualized curriculum, we only assign one core subject course semester to students at a time. Students are also concurrently enrolled in Physical Education, Daily Oral Language, and Student Support Life Management Seminar (Group). This allows students to focus on one subject at a time to help ensure mastery of the material. Another feature of our individualized curriculum is the ability for students to substitute module work with creative projects, based on the learning objectives of that module to include state standards. Students are allowed to substitute as part of their project based curriculum because it enables them to learn in a familiar or different modality. Student substitutions include, film documentaries, music composition and performances, as well as theatrical performances and experiential excursions.
