Seminar is the cornerstone of the RESCU Academy pedagogy. The purpose is to provide feedback and support for students on issues related to recovery and daily school experiences.  Students are encouraged to address problems occurring with family, peers, teachers, and administrators.  Seminar is staff facilitated and peer based on the 12-step recovery model. The school encourages student peers to be consistent with the model “what is said in here stays in here” until the issues have been addressed and resolved by administration.  Meetings are typically held each day and may be divided by age, subject, or gender.  Students receive five academic credits upon completion of one year and two Presentations of Portfolios (POPs).
