RESCU Academy is a private comprehensive school which serves a population of students who need additional support for their education, behavior, mental health, and family dynamics. Students enrolled at RESCU Academy have a history of being unsuccessful in the public school system and/or have learning disabilities, mental health disabilities such as bipolar disorder and depression, behavior problems, substance abuse issues, and eating disorders. The school serves 6th through 12th grade students on a year-round schedule and offers additional support groups for students and families. The RESCU Pedagogy: The student and the student’s family are the focus of the RESCU's instructional methods. The goal of the school is to reunite each student with his or her family, community, and society as a whole. The family and student participate in family sessions and are supported by the individualized academic curriculum, rigorous daily athletic activities, and the peer, parent, and sibling groups. These procedures are structured and facilitated by the RESCU staff, all of whom are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
